GLORY 87: Official weigh-in results

  • News
  • Aug 17, 2023

All fighters successfully made weight this morning in Amsterdam ahead of GLORY 87 tomorrow night, Saturday, August 19, live from the Rotterdam Ahoy arena in the Netherlands.

Taking centre stage is the four-man one-night heavyweight tournament where the winner punches his ticket into the historic end of year GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix and a chance to win a life-changing $500,000.

The two monsters of the tournament, Uku Jürjendal (18-7, 14 KO) & Martin Terpstra (21-5, 11 KO), will go head-to-head on one side while the more dynamic Bahram Rajabzadeh (63-1, 57 KO) & Mohamed Amine (29-5, 16 KO) meet on the other. The winners of their respective bouts will then clash in the main event of the evening.

Acting as a co-main event, but could easily headline any card this year, is a GLORY lightweight title fight between the reigning & defending champion Tyjani Beztati (24-4, 9 KO) and Japanese superstar Kaito Ono (48-6-1, 21 KO).

Both fighters are just 25 years old and are at the top of their games. Beztati has successfully defended the title three times, firmly establishing himself as the king of the division, but now he will face arguably the toughest test of his reign coming in the shape of multi-promotional champion Kaito Ono. This fight is not to be missed and will be a defining moment in their careers.

A potential number one contender fight will take place in the middleweight division as the always exciting Michael Boapeah (15-3-1) meets German veteran Sergej Braun (43-12, 27 KO) in a rematch of their fight at GLORY Collision 4.

Also on the main card, former welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart (69-26-3, 40 KO) takes on the challenge of younger German Cihad Akipa (49-11, 18 KO) in an old-fashioned ‘Experience vs. Youth’ affair and rising Dutch star Jan Kaffa (19-3, 7 KO) will be aiming to continue his climb through the ranks when he goes against Morocco’s Mohamed El Hammouti (7-1, 4 KO).

The GLORY 87 prelims will feature two entertaining bouts live and for free on YouTube and Facebook. Imad Hadar (19-2, 7 KO) is hoping it’s third time lucky as he aims to register his first win in GLORY as he goes against late notice replacement Bartosz Muszynski (26-3) of Poland. Lastly, a reserve bout for the heavyweight tournament will kick-off the card as Serbia’s Nikola Filipovic (10-2, 6 KO) takes on the debuting Romanian Cristian Ristea (44-10, 21 KO) in what should be an explosive start to the night.

GLORY 87 will be available to watch live around the world on GLORYFights.com & various global broadcast partners and exclusively on Videoland in the Netherlands.

Fans can catch the GLORY 87 prelims on the official GLORY Facebook page & YouTube channel as well as the GLORY FAST Channel available on several streaming services around the world including Plex, Amazon Prime & FreeVee apps, LGTV, FUBO & many others.
