GLORY 89 Bout Order Change

  • News
  • Oct 3, 2023

GLORY 89, which takes place this Saturday, October 7, from Burgas, Bulgaria, has today received a slight change in the feature bout order.

Headlining the event will still be kickboxing legend Badr Hari (106-16, 92 KO) facing Estonian power puncher Uku Jürjendal (19-8, 15 KO), but the fight will be starting earlier in the evening. Badr Hari is expected to make the walk to the ring around 9pm CEST.

The GLORY featherweight title fight between the world number one ‘Petch’ (168-39-3) and top Spanish challenger David Mejia (61-15, 18 KO) will now take center stage at the end of the event.

Before the last fight, an exciting clash between Bulgaria’s very own Stoyan Koprivlenski (18-6, 6 KO), is scheduled when he faces Romania’s Sorin Caliniuc (11-1).

With the returning Levi Rigters (14-1, 6 KO) facing the giant Martin Terpstra (26-6, 13 KO) and Hari vs Jürjendal, there are two thrilling fights scheduled for the historic GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix. The winners of these two bouts will punch their ticket into the eight-man one-night $500,000 tournament.

“GLORY 89 has shaped up to be one of the most stacked cards of the year so far,” said Robbie Timmers, GLORY matchmaker. “A title fight, a thrilling co-main event, two Grand Prix qualifiers, and more big names & exciting matchups filling up the rest of the card. Saturday will be a huge night on the GLORY calendar. You do not want to miss it.”

GLORY 89 will be available to watch live around the world on GLORYFights.com and exclusively on Videoland in the Netherlands.
