GLORY 88 Results: Tiffany van Soest Retains & Badr Hari Withdraws

After four years away, GLORY made its triumphant return to France with the sold out GLORY 88 live from the Dome de Paris and it was a night that will go down in history.

Firstly, Badr Hari withdrew from his fight with James McSweeney on compassionate grounds due to the Moroccan earthquake disaster. GLORY will donate all profits from the event to a charity in Morocco to help with all those affected.

Taking its place in the main event was the women’s super bantamweight title fight. America’s Tiffany van Soest (25-6-2, 10 KO) finished Sarah Moussaddak (8-4, 1 KO) with a brutal head kick in the second round. Known as the P4P women’s kickboxing GOAT, the 34-year-old hung up the gloves and called it time on her legendary career.

In the co-main event, Nordine Mahieddine (28-15, 13 KO) sent the whole arena wild with his devasting head kick knockout victory over Abderahmane Coulibaly (65-27-1, 25 KO) in what will be a KO of the year candidate.

Germany’s Denis Wosik (38-8-1, 9 KO) won a hard-fought split decision over Berjan Peposhi (28-4, 16 KO) while Romania’s Stefan Latescu (16-2, 7 KO) and Serbia’s Nikola Todorovic (27-3, 14 KO) made successful starts to life in GLORY with victories over Pascal Touré (18-6, 6 KO) and Karim Ghajji (103-18-1, 53 KO), respectively.

In the opening bouts of the night, James Condé (9-0, 4 KO) remained undefeated and won the battle of France against Jonathan Mayezo (26-8-1, 11 KO), crowd favourite Iliass Hammouche (33-6, 7 KO) beat Florian Kröger (19-10, 6 KO), France’s own Diaguely Camara (24-4-1, 10 KO) looked impressive in his win over Ilyass Chakir (16-4-1, 6 KO).
