Former featherweight champions face off at GLORY 67

Two of the most unorthodox fighters in the game and both of them former champions - this Superfight Series headliner surely has implications for the world title picture as former champion Serhii Adamchuk (38-10, 14 KO’s) meets former interim champion Kevin Vannostrand (18-3, 12 KO’s)

Adamchuk, originally from the Ukraine but now resident in Amsterdam, Netherlands, won the title in late 2015 and made one defense of it before it slipped from his grasp. Since then he’s remained a perennial contender.

Ranked #1 in the contender lists, Adamchuk comes into this fight off the back of an unsuccessful attempt to take the belt from current champion Petchpanomrung at GLORY 63 HOUSTON. The Thai maestro resisted his efforts but Adamchuk has not given up on his goal.

Nor has Vannostrand.

The upstate New Yorker had a brief taste of life at the top when he won the interim world championship during former champion Robin van Roosmalen’s injury hiatus in 2017.

When Van Roosmalen returned, Vannostrand challenged him for the undisputed world championship at GLORY 52 but fell short in his efforts to unify the belts.

The interim title was initially dissolved, but suddenly came back into play at GLORY 55 when Van Roosmalen became injured again and was unable to defend his belt.

Vannonstrand and Petchpanomrung disputed it and the Thai came away the winner, before going on to take the undisputed world title from Van Roosmalen last summer.

Since then, Vannostrand has taken a win over Adamchuk’s team mate, Massaro Glunder of Mike’s Gym, Amsterdam, and now looks to take a win over Adamchuk and move closer to a rematch with Petchpanomrung and another shot at the world title.

GLORY 67 ORLANDO takes place Friday, July 5 at the Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, Orlando Metropolitan Area.
