A lightweight battle between Bulgaria’s Stoyan Koprivlenski (11-3, 5 KO’s) and Morocco’s Mohammed Jaraya (64-8, 36 KO’s) took place on the GLORY 66 SuperFight Series in Paris on Saturday, June 22.

Jaraya raced to the center of the ring and delivered a low kick to Koprivlenski. The Bulgarian responded with a body kick under the elbow of Jaraya.

The aggression of Jaraya was relentless as he came forward winging wild shots along the ropes. He snapped the head of Koprivlenski with a right hand. Koprivlenski landed a big knee to the body and flicked his front kick to re-establish his range. The referee warned Jaraya late in the round for holding after a kick catch.

Koprivlenski sent Jaraya sprawling against the ropes with a heavy push kick. Jaraya answered with heavy low kicks to take out the legs of Koprivlenski.

A body kick from Koprivlenski was followed by a spinning backfist, but Jaraya was able to block it with his high guard. A punching combination from Jaraya prompted the crowd to get excited.

He then landed an uppercut from inside the pocket before Koprivlenski was able to separate. Koprivlenski threw a punch to the back of Jaraya’s head in the clinch, earning himself a warning from the referee.

The back-and-forth bout entered its final frame with Jaraya pushing forward. Koprivlenski countered with a front kick to the face of the Moroccan. The kicking output of Koprivlenski increased until Jaraya landed a knee through the guard.

The low kicks of Jaraya took their toll on the lead leg of Koprivlenski, as he struggled to plant on it. Jaraya bled from his nose and a big cut over the left eye. The doctor was called in with under a minute left and stopped the contest.

Jaraya was incensed by the stoppage, feeling he could continue. Nevertheless, Koprivlenski was awarded the TKO victory.
