GLORY 84 took place Saturday evening, March 11, from the Topsportcentrum in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The main event saw an incredible Champion vs. Champion Superfight and it was lightweight king Tyjani Beztati (24-4, 9 KO) who scored a career defining victory.

The 25-year-old had the whole arena on its feet with an incredible knockout victory over featherweight champ Petchpanomrung ‘Petch’ Kiatmookao (168-39-3, 27 KO). This victory marked Beztati’s third title defense and has truly established him as one of the next generations of GLORY stars.

In the co-main event, it was a tough first round for Tarik Khbabez (48-10-1, 27 KO) but his class shone through in the second as he knocked opponent Daniel Toledo (17-6, 8 KO) through the ropes and forcing the Spaniard’s corner to throw in the towel.

Keeping his undefeated run in GLORY going, rising Dutch star Jay Overmeer (29-4, 15 KO) put in another stellar performance dropping the UK’s Jamie Bates (27-8, 3 KO), who is renowned for his durability, three times in the second round. As a result, the referee called an end to the action to award Overmeer his fourth straight victory in GLORY.

Elsewhere on the main card, Brazil’s Felipe Micheletti (17-10, 5 KO) pulled-off a big upset victory knocking down Nordine Mahieddine (27-15, 12 KO) twice in the final round en route to a decision victory, Ghana’s Michael Boapeah (14-3-1, 6 KO) scored the biggest win of his young career defeating former middleweight title contender Ertuğrul Bayrak (17-10, 5 KO) with a complete shutout on the scorecard, and French heavyweight Sofian Laïdouni (35-2-1, 17 KO) looked impressive with a decision victory over fan favourite Nabil Khachab (25-4-1, 4 KO) in the opening bout of the PPV.

Finally, in the early prelims, new signing Chico Kwasi (37-4, 25 KO) made a big splash in his GLORY debut stopping previously undefeated Romanian Stefan Orza (18-1, 8 KO) in the second round and in the opening bout of the night Serbia’s Strahinja Mitric (20-1, 13 KO) handed giant New Zealander David Tuitupou (9-1, 4 KO) his first loss.
